Ghana Police Arrest 3 Nigerians in Connection with SIM BOX Fraud in Sakumono

The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested three Nigerian nationals in connection with an alleged SIM Box fraud operation at the Sakumono Ramsar Site.

The suspects, identified as Timileyin Fakunle, 30; Begun Adedeji, 31; and Olamide Roheemot, 28, were apprehended during a targeted crackdown aimed at dismantling illegal telecommunications activities in the area.

Police say the arrests form part of an ongoing operation to combat SIM Box fraud, a crime that enables the bypassing of legitimate telecom networks and causes significant revenue losses to service providers and the state.

Investigations conducted so far indicate that the suspects were actively involved in the operation of the illegal setup at the time of their arrest.

Meanwhile, authorities are intensifying efforts to track down three additional suspects believed to be connected to the same network.

The individuals, identified only as Mike, Kpalumi, and a Chinese national known as Tomy, are currently on the run. Police have assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to apprehend them and bring all those involved to justice.
