Ashanti Region: Six Arrested for Allegedly Impersonating Military Personnel at Illegal Mining Site
Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested six suspects accused of posing as military personnel at an illegal mining site near Kotokoum in the Atwima Mponua District.
The operation led to the seizure of a cache of items, including firearms, ammunition, military-style uniforms, body armor, handcuffs, and tasers.
According to authorities, the suspects were allegedly using the equipment to impersonate security personnel while operating at the illegal mining site.
Investigations are ongoing as police work to determine the full extent of their activities and any possible links to criminal networks in the area.
