A fire outbreak was reported in the early hours of Monday morning at Gate 4 of the Kejetia Market, one of the busiest commercial centers in the Ashanti Region.
The incident caused panic among traders and nearby residents as flames rapidly spread from a shop believed to be dealing in the sale of matches and other highly flammable items.
According to initial reports, the fire is suspected to have started within that shop before quickly escalating due to the combustible nature of the goods stored inside. Within a short period, the blaze intensified, destroying goods worth hundreds of cedis. Several adjoining shops were at risk as the fire threatened to spread further across the market.
Fortunately, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly after receiving a distress call. Their timely intervention played a crucial role in containing the fire and preventing it from engulfing a larger section of the market.

Firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the situation under control and minimize further destruction.
Although the exact cause of the fire is yet to be officially confirmed, investigations are expected to begin to determine what triggered the outbreak.

Authorities are also expected to assess the situation and possibly introduce stricter fire safety measures to prevent future occurrences in the market.
