A 26-year-old sales assistant, Nerissa Akodor, and her boyfriend, Courage Addo, have reportedly been arrested over the alleged theft of GH$5.1 million from her employer in Ho.
Reports indicate that Akodor was promoted in 2025 to a “Point Two” sales position in recognition of her performance, earning a monthly salary of GH$1,500.
However, after she left the company earlier this year, internal investigations allegedly uncovered ongoing misappropriation of funds.
Authorities claim that a portion of the suspected stolen money was transferred to her boyfriend, Courage Addo.
The pair are said to have used the funds to purchase assets, including a Mercedes-Benz C250, a Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC, and a two-bedroom house.
Further findings suggest that around the time of her promotion, Akodor was allegedly depositing as much as GH$10,000 monthly into her personal bank account.
The case is expected to continue at the Ho Circuit Court.
