The Supreme Court has ruled that Vodafone, now operating as Telecel, violated a customer’s privacy by using the person’s Ghana Card details to register a SIM card and mobile money account for another individual.
The court determined that the action amounted to a breach of the customer’s personal data and privacy rights.
The ruling has drawn attention to increasing concerns about data protection, identity theft, and the security of personal information in Ghana’s telecommunications and digital financial services sector.
