Parliament of Ghana has passed the Legal Education Reform Bill Today

Parliament of Ghana has passed the Legal Education Reform Bill, introducing a significant change to the country’s legal training system.

The new law ends the long-standing monopoly of the Ghana School of Law, allowing other accredited institutions to provide professional legal education.

This reform aims to reduce the intense competition and limited admissions that many law graduates previously faced.

By expanding the number of institutions that can train future lawyers, the government hopes to create more opportunities while improving the overall quality of legal education.

At the same time, the system will remain strictly regulated, with strengthened oversight to ensure consistent standards and effective professional training nationwide.
