Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has emphasized that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is bigger than any individual within the party as preparations intensify for the party’s presidential primaries.

The NPP is gearing up for its presidential primary scheduled for 31st January 2026, which will determine the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 General Election.
Five aspirants are contesting for the position: Hon. Adu Twum (Former Minister for Education), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (Former Vice President of Ghana), Bryan Acheampong, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, and Kwabena Agyapong.

The aspirants met today at the Alisa Hotel in the Greater Accra Region, where they signed a peace pact ahead of the primaries, committing themselves to a peaceful and orderly process.
Addressing the gathering, former President Akufo-Addo stressed that the NPP remains bigger than any individual, urging all aspirants and their supporters to respect the party’s rules and regulations and work together to safeguard its unity.
