Eight years ago today, Ghana lost one of its brightest musical talents, Ebony Reigns, born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng. Popularly known as the fearless “90s bad girl,” Ebony’s life was tragically cut short on February 8, 2018, following a fatal accident on the Sunyani–Kumasi highway near Bechem.

To mark the eighth anniversary of her passing, the family of the late songstress visited her tomb in a solemn moment of remembrance and reflection.
Ebony had been returning to Accra after visiting her family in Sunyani with a close friend when the unfortunate accident occurred, claiming both their lives.

Her death sent shockwaves across the nation, plunging Ghanaians into deep mourning.

Even eight years on, Ebony Reigns’ music, bold spirit, and legacy continue to live on in the hearts of many.
