Owusu Afiriyie, 53, Arrested in Kumasi for Allegedly Selling Sobolo Mixed with Akpeteshie and Weed
A 53-year-old man, identified as Adjei Owusu Afiriyie, has been arrested by police in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region for allegedly selling sobolo and akpeteshie laced with suspected marijuana.
The arrest followed intelligence-led operations by law enforcement officers who suspected the sale of illicit substances at a local drinking spot.
According to police sources, the suspect was apprehended at De-Vicky’s pub during a raid.
Items retrieved at the scene included several barrels of locally distilled akpeteshie, bottles of Alomo Bitters, and quantities of sobolo believed to have been mixed with weed.
The seized items are currently being examined as part of ongoing investigations.
Police say the arrest forms part of broader efforts to clamp down on the sale of illegal and harmful substances within the region.
Adjei Owusu Afiriyie is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations, while authorities work to establish the source and distribution network of the suspected substances.
