The Matron of Wovenu Senior High Technical School at Tadzewu in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region has been arrested for allegedly diverting food supplies intended for students.
According to reports, she was apprehended by some town residents together with the local Assembly Member while transporting the food items in a taxi.
The incident reportedly occurred after suspicions were raised about the disappearance of provisions meant for student consumption.
The matron was allegedly caught in the act, prompting the immediate intervention of community members.
She has since been handed over to the Tadzewu Police for further investigation.
Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough inquiry to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged diversion of food items.
