Millicent Amankwah Yeboah, the Member of Parliament for Sunyani West, has addressed criticism from social media users who questioned her English fluency during parliamentary proceedings.
She explained that most of her constituents do not primarily communicate in English, emphasizing that her focus is on representing their interests effectively rather than meeting language expectations online.

According to her, communication with the people she serves is more important than public perception of linguistic proficiency.

She urged critics to appreciate Ghana’s linguistic diversity and understand that leadership is defined by service, advocacy, and impact, not solely by mastery of the English language in parliamentary debates or discussions.
