“I’m now living with one kidney and a metal-supported liver,” says 25-year-old Ghanaian Maxwell Aidoo, who has recounted his painful experience fighting in the Russia–Ukraine war after allegedly being lured with promises of a better life.
According to Maxwell, he survived several deadly frontline attacks but suffered severe injuries following a drone strike.
He also described the harsh and brutal conditions on the battlefield, revealing that many members of his unit lost their lives during the conflict.
