Taraji P. Henson has revealed that after the excitement surrounding her 2008 Oscar nomination, opportunities in Hollywood suddenly dried up.
She explained that during the awards season her phone rang constantly with invitations and appearances, but the day after the Oscars, everything went silent.
According to her, it felt strange going from nonstop attention to having no calls or offers.
Henson said Tyler Perry was the one person who reached out during that period.
He offered her a leading role in I Can Do Bad All by Myself, even advising her on what salary to request.
Grateful for his support, she says she will always answer whenever he calls.
