The Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts has officially designated Wednesdays as Fugu (Batakari) Day.

This initiative invites Ghanaians at home and across the diaspora to proudly wear Fugu every Wednesday as a celebration of our rich cultural heritage.
Beyond promoting national identity, the campaign seeks to support local weavers, designers, and artisans whose craftsmanship keeps this iconic attire alive.

By embracing Fugu as a weekly tradition, the Ministry aims to strengthen the creative economy, create sustainable jobs, and showcase Ghanaian culture on a global stage through fashion, pride, and unity.
