Agradaa pays 100,000gh to Empress Gifty for Defamation

Gospel musician Empress Gifty Oppong Adorye and evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, have reached an out-of-court settlement to resolve their high-profile defamation dispute.

The legal battle, which drew significant public attention, stemmed from a series of allegedly defamatory statements made on social media by both parties. Empress Gifty and Nana Agradaa each filed separate lawsuits in May and June 2025, collectively demanding damages amounting to GH¢40 million.

After months of legal proceedings, the matter was amicably resolved on January 20, 2026. Both the Tema Land Court and the Tema Main Court formally adopted a Consent Judgment, bringing the cases to a close. Under the terms of the settlement, the GH¢40 million defamation claims were settled for a total amount of GH¢100,000.

The agreement effectively ends the legal hostilities between the two public figures and is expected to restore calm between their supporters, marking a significant conclusion to one of Ghana’s most talked-about celebrity court cases.
