A newborn baby girl was discovered alive on February 17, 2026, in a bush at Bronyibima Estate near Elmina in the Central Region after residents responded to persistent cries.
The infant, wrapped in cloth and placed inside a polythene bag, is believed to have been abandoned shortly after birth.
A resident who heard the crying went to investigate and alerted other community members, leading to a swift rescue.
