A 53-year-old Ghanaian pilgrim, identified as Musah Sidi, has reportedly died in Mecca while participating in Tawaf, the sacred Islamic ritual performed around the Holy Kaaba during Hajj.
According to a statement issued by the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana on May 22, 2026, Mr. Sidi collapsed at the Haram while carrying out the ritual and was later confirmed dead.
The incident has saddened many within the Ghanaian Muslim community as pilgrims continue this yearβs Hajj activities.
