With profound sorrow, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) announces the tragic passing of a second-year student following an off-campus incident. The deceased, Mr. Ransford Amankwa Asomani, was a Level 200 BSc Agribusiness student.
According to available information, the incident occurred on Sunday, 8th February 2026, when Mr. Asomani reportedly fell from an off-campus hostel located at Ayeduase.
His colleagues swiftly responded and, with the assistance of the KNUST Police Team, rushed him to the University Hospital for urgent medical attention. Despite these efforts, he sadly succumbed to his injuries.
The University community is deeply saddened by this loss and extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and all those affected during this difficult time.
