Former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo has stepped down from Ghana’s Council of State, ending her service on the President’s advisory body.

Sources close to the matter reveal that she submitted her resignation last year and has not participated in any Council meetings since then.

Justice Akuffo, who served as Ghana’s Chief Justice from 2017 to 2020, was among the distinguished individuals appointed to the Council of State to provide guidance and counsel to the President.
