Some Ghanaians have started cutting open their mattresses to inspect the materials used in making them following a recent operation by the Ghana Standards Authority.
The operation reportedly uncovered some Chinese-owned companies allegedly using unapproved materials in the production of mattresses.
A few days ago, officials from the Ghana Standards Authority stormed shops at China Mall Wholesale after discovering suspected unauthorized materials being used in mattress manufacturing.
Following the revelation, a section of Ghanaians has turned the issue into a social media trend, with many cutting open their mattresses to check whether they are made from genuine materials or rubber substitutes.
