The Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference has urged a more respectful and constructive national dialogue on LGBTQ+ issues and family values.

In a pastoral statement, the Bishops called on the government, Parliament, traditional leaders, religious groups, and civil society to engage in discussions that foster unity rather than division.
They stressed that such sensitive matters should be approached with mutual respect, moral clarity, and a commitment to national cohesion.
They noted that ongoing debates around family, marriage, and social values in Ghana demand seriousness and responsibility from all stakeholders.
While emphasizing that the Church does not intend to impose its views, the Bishops said it seeks to contribute meaningfully to public discourse through conscience, scripture, and reason.
They also appealed for wisdom, justice, and compassion in shaping national conversations, highlighting the importance of protecting human dignity and strengthening the family as a fundamental institution of society.
