2 High Profile NPP and One NDC Polical Figures Jointly sent the Political Party’s in Ghana To Supreme Court

Three high-profile political figures have jointly petitioned Ghana’s Supreme Court, invoking its original jurisdiction to contest the internal voting arrangements of the country’s major political parties.

The plaintiffs include Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng and Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, both influential members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), as well as Dr. Christine Amoako-Nuamah, a leading figure within the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In their action, the applicants argue that certain internal electoral structures and procedures adopted by the parties are inconsistent with constitutional principles governing democratic participation and fairness.

They are therefore seeking judicial interpretation and possible redress to ensure that party voting systems comply with the letter and spirit of Ghana’s Constitution, as demanded by law and public democratic accountability standard
