Arise Ghana has announced a temporary suspension of its ongoing protests at the United States Embassy in Accra, pausing demonstrations for a period of one week.

The decision follows the submission of a formal petition to U.S. authorities in which the group is demanding the return of Ghana’s former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, to face issues relating to his tenure in office.

According to the group, the pause is intended to allow diplomatic processes to take place and to give authorities sufficient time to respond to their concerns.

Arise Ghana emphasized that the suspension should not be interpreted as a withdrawal of their demands or a loss of momentum in their campaign.
Rather, it is a strategic move to await clear communication and assurances regarding the status and progress of any extradition procedures involving the former minister.
The group has issued a firm warning that protests will resume immediately if no satisfactory response or commitment is received within the one-week period.
