Six Year-Old Boy Drowns At Kasoa Wallantu

A sad News hit the deceased family as a 6-year boy drown in a well at Kaso Wallantu.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family following a tragic drowning incident involving a six-year-old boy at Kasoa Wallantu, House Number CB 180 in the Central Region.

The Service received the distress call at 5:03 hours, after which a Rescue Team was dispatched to the scene, arriving at 5:13 hours.

⁠Upon arrival, the team discovered that a six-year-old boy, identified as Godfred Aboagye, had drowned in an open water storage tank within a compound house.

⁠Rescue operations were promptly undertaken and completed at the early hours. The recovered body of the child was handed over to the Police at the scene for preservation and further investigation.

Further and Preliminary investigations indicate that the child was playing with a ball when it fell into the uncovered tank. In an attempt to retrieve the ball, the child entered the tank and unfortunately drowned.

The Ghana National Fire Service, by this release, strongly cautions parents, guardians, and property owners to ensure that all water storage facilities, tanks, wells, and pits are securely covered, particularly in homes where children are present.

They promise to remain committed to public safety education on drowning prevention and urges the public to promptly report such incidence or emergencies through 112 / 0201500360 / 0302772446 for swift response.
