FDA has issued a Public Health Alert Following the Discovery of Falsified HIV Test kits being sold in Ghana

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has issued a public health alert following the discovery of falsified HIV test kits being sold in parts of Ghana.

According to the FDA, the presence of these fake kits on the market poses a serious risk to public health, as they may produce inaccurate results.

Incorrect HIV test results could mislead individuals about their health status, potentially delaying proper diagnosis and timely treatment.

The authority has therefore cautioned the public and healthcare providers to remain vigilant and purchase only approved testing kits from authorized suppliers.

The FDA says it is intensifying surveillance efforts to identify and remove the counterfeit products from circulation.
