Cameroon’s President Paul Biya has appointed his son, Frank Emmanuel Biya, as Vice President and Head of the Armed Forces, giving him full authority over the country’s military.
The appointment follows recent constitutional amendments approved by Cameroon’s Parliament, which created the position of Vice President.
Under the new constitutional provisions, President Biya selected his son to assume the role, placing him in one of the most powerful positions in the government.

Paul Biya, who has ruled Cameroon for decades, is currently the world’s oldest serving head of state.
