Moro Sumaila, a convict serving an 18-year sentence at the Ankaful Prisons Annex, has reportedly been recaptured after briefly escaping custody.
The incident occurred while he was participating in a routine community service assignment outside the prison facility.
According to reports, Sumaila took advantage of the situation and fled, prompting an immediate search by officials of the Ghana Prisons Service.
Authorities quickly launched a manhunt to track him down and restore custody.
Their efforts proved successful as he was later apprehended and returned to the prison.
Officials say the situation is now under control and investigations are underway.
