The Supreme Court fined Kumawood Actor Lil Win GH¢10,000 for Failing to Appear in Court

The Supreme Court of Ghana has fined Kumawood actor Lil Win GH¢10,000 for failing to appear in court in connection with an ongoing defamation case filed by actress Martha Ankomah.
According to the court, Lil Win and his legal team were absent during a scheduled hearing on 31 March 2026, an action the court described as disrespectful.

As a result, the court imposed the GH¢10,000 cost against him.

The legal dispute began in February 2024, when Martha Ankomah filed a GH¢5 million defamation lawsuit against the actor over comments he allegedly made in a viral video.

Although both parties previously indicated a willingness to settle the matter out of court, the case experienced delays due to alleged failure to meet certain settlement terms and additional legal developments.

While there have been signs of renewed efforts to reach a settlement, the Supreme Court’s latest decision highlights its dissatisfaction with the actor’s conduct as the case continues.
