GAF Refute Claims That 60% Of Applicatants Were Disqualified Over HIV during Medical Tests

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has firmly dismissed circulating reports alleging that 60 percent of military applicants failed recent medical screenings due to HIV.

According to the GAF, these claims are completely false and have no factual basis.

The military explained that the misinformation, which has gained traction on social media and other platforms, does not reflect the realities of its recruitment or medical evaluation processes.

In an official clarification, the GAF emphasized that its medical screening procedures are conducted with professionalism, confidentiality, and in line with established ethical and medical standards.

It further noted that recruitment outcomes are determined by a broad range of medical and non-medical criteria, not by the exaggerated claims being spread online.

The Armed Forces has therefore urged the general public to disregard the misleading reports and to rely only on information released through its official communication channels.

The GAF also cautioned against the spread of unverified information, stressing that such misinformation can create unnecessary fear, stigma, and misunderstanding about both military recruitment and public health issues.
