On 2 November 2024, a brazen armed robbery took place in broad daylight at Adabraka in the Greater Accra Region.

During the incident, a group of armed robbers attacked a jewelry shop and made away with valuables worth approximately GHS 7.5 million. The robbery caused widespread public concern due to its bold execution and the busy nature of the area where it occurred. Following intensive investigations and manhunts, the Ghana Police Service initially arrested two suspects in connection with the crime.
Further breakthroughs were made more than a year later. On 19 January 2026, the police arrested three additional suspects believed to be the principal gang members who planned and spearheaded the robbery. The suspects were identified as Fatal Mohammed, popularly known as “Motorway,” Nashiru Abubakari, also known as “Soldier,” and SanDisk Abubakari, nicknamed “50 Cent.”

Police investigations suggest that these individuals played leading roles in organizing and executing the robbery.
